HARTAWAN SETJODININGRAT (HAUWKE)
Vintage & Classic Car Restorer
With a degree in Mechanical Engineering from a notable university in Sydney, Australia in 1979,
Hartawan Setjodiningrat founded PT. Dasa Windu Agung, a pioneer in the OEM automotive
industry in Indonesia.
Through extensive training and experience in car manufacturing, Hartawan aka Hauwke always
believed that you can restore just about any car, turning a piece of junk into jewel. It’s no secret
his love for cars knows no bounds.
Since his first acquisition of a 1937 Austin Seven Touring in the early 1980s, Hauwke has been
collecting and restoring an incredible cache of American and European cars manufactured as
early as the 1900s.
Over the years and to date, Hauwke has restored no less than 100 cars that are aesthetic on the
outside, fully functional on the inside. In 1980, Hauwke was one of the pioneers of PPMKI
(Perhimpunan Penggemar Mobil Kuno Indonesia), a classic car enthusiasts club in Indonesia, and
at present, continues to serve on the advisory board.
In 2008, Hauwke launched Hauwke Auto Gallery to share his passion for classic cars. Since then,
the gallery has attracted car enthusiasts from all over and has become a landmark and icon for
vintage and classic car appreciation.
